Position: Admitting Representative

Position Details:

Brief Description of Key Responsibilities:
The Admitting Representative registers patients for hospital admittance and outpatient procedures. Obtains and inputs patient demographic information. Obtains, verifies and inputs patient payment source information. Takes patient deposits. Provides physician and nursing staff with non-medical related assistance. Inputs patient related medical orders. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Other Requirements:
Patient registration experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
Experience operating, or ability to train on hospital information systems.
Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
Ability to work effectively with all staff and physicians to ensure cooperation and excellence in patient satisfaction.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, showing initiative and being a self-starter.

Education, Certification and Licensing Requirements:
High school graduate demonstrating ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform math calculations.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
