Cardio/Pulmonary
The function of this Department is to provide all necessary therapeutic and diagnostic modalities for the management of respiratory disorders and complications. Services are provided on an inpatient or outpatient basis. All respiratory personnel are credentialed either as Certified Technicians or Registered Therapists. In addition, they are licensed by the State of Nevada to perform arterial blood gases. In-house staffing is provided 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Services which may be facilitated or provided include:

Dietetic
Boulder City Hospital is very conscientious about providing patients with the best quality, nutritious and carefully prepared meals. Our registered Dietitian consults with doctors and patients, then relays necessary information to the Dietetic Services Department for implementation. We are very fortunate to have a gourmet chef as our Dietetic Production Manager. With this creativity, we are able to prepare new and exciting meals for both employees and patrons of the cafeteria. Additional nutrition services include community presentations, individualized inpatient and diet counseling and nutritional assessment.
Emergency
Boasting a staff of Board Certified Emergency Room Physicians and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified Nurses, we are proud of our ability to handle life threatening situations, arising from sudden onset of illness, accident or injury. The Emergency Care Facility is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week and is always ready to serve the community with both technology and excellence in care.
Home Health
Boulder City Hospital, Inc. Home Health Agency is a Medicare certified agency that is able to provide an alternative to institutional care by furnishing Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Home Health Aides and Medical Social Worker services to patients in their homes. If you are an eligible beneficiary and meet the Medicare criteria for home health services, Medicare Part "A" will cover the cost of the service. Home health care is also covered by many group, private and Medicaid plans. ICU/CCU
Family physicians and appropriate specialty physicians, along with our nursing staff, oversee the care of critical surgical/medical patients including cardiac cases. The nursing staff, all ACLS certified and most additionally accredited in Critical Care, works as a team with the physicians and various support services to provide quality care and patient education.
MST
As with our Emergency Department, the Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit is staffed with exceptional personnel including ACLS certified nurses, licensed RN's, LPN's, Certified Nursing Assistants and Unit Clerk/ Telemetry Technicians 24 hours per day. We are able to provide cardiac telemetry monitoring of twelve patients simultaneously. Together with the Physical and Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Laboratory and Dietetic Services Departments we can assure that your loved ones will receive the best possible care while in our facility.
Skilled Nursing Facility
Boulder City Hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility is a full service nursing and rehabilitation facility. It is our hope to offer all the comforts of home while offering a skilled therapeutic environment for recovery from surgery, injury or illness. We are committed to providing a quality, home-like environment, where your needs for companionship, nursing care, or medical oversight may be met. We strive to work actively with you and your loved ones, involving them in your plan of care to be sure their expectations are met and their questions answered.
We offer a full array of physical medicine, including physical therapy, speech therapy and respiratory therapy services. We have licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants 24 hours per day. Our staff members are trained in the special needs of older adults. We have a physician on duty in our emergency room 24 hours per day where any emergency medical condition may be evaluated.
Our dietician will see every new resident and will participate in the oversight for the nutrition care. We welcome you to meet with our Director of Social Services or the Director of Nursing to have questions answered about our facility. Our Director of Social Services will work with you and your family prior to and throughout the admission process, during your stay in our facility, and actively works with you in your discharge planning. Boulder City Hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility offers a small town charm and intimacy combined with state of the art technology. Every resident has access to a myriad of activities which promote socialization, a sense of satisfaction, and ultimately an opportunity to enjoy life.
Outpatient
In addition to outpatient surgery (same day surgery), we have an active endoscopy room that provides facilities for colonoscopies, endoscopies, and bronchoscopies and a separate recovery area for outpatient and inpatient surgeries as well. Our Weekend Clinic is open Friday evening and during the day Saturday and Sunday to facilitate minor injury and illness when your doctor's office is closed. Walk-in's are welcome. Partial Hospitalization Program
Our Mental Health Department offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for adults at the Boulder City Hospital that meets the needs of people who are able to remain in the community but require additional emotional support. This new addition to the Boulder City Hospital provides a structured, individualized program of quality and intensive psychiatric care which focuses on the specific needs of each client. We offer treatment for depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, severe anxiety and other mood disorders. The PHP is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, social workers, and psychiatric nurses. Through comprehensive individual, group and family therapty, clients gain skills necessary to enhance their quality of life and maximize their ability to function independently. The program provides a supportive environment where clients can gain the skills and resources that will foster independence, self-confidence and self-reliance. Our client care includes input from family members, physicians, friends and clergy. With the help of our highly qualified staff, the crucial goals of restoring a sense of self worth and returning to an optimal level of productivity can be reached. Pharmaceutical
Our staff of Registered Pharmacists and Certified Technicians provide and monitor medication therapy throughout Boulder City Hospital. Services include oral and IV therapy (including antibiotic and total parenteral nutrition), and monthly Long-Term Care medication consultation for patients and other health care personnel.
Physician Specialty Services and Physician Referrals
Boulder City Hospital has been instrumental in bringing a number of physician specialties into the area in order to better serve the community's needs. A monthly calendar is prepared and distributed to local physicians, pharmacies, and other medical entities within Boulder City and the surrounding areas identifying these doctors and their office hours. They are located in our medical suites located at 999 Adams Boulevard, adjacent to the Boulder City Hospital. If you're new to the area, or just looking for a new doctor, our Physician Referral Service is here to help. Contact the Medical Staff Department and they will be happy to provide you with a list of physicians on staff. Our Medical Staff is available Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Radiology
Diagnostic imaging usees many different energies such as x-rays, sound waves, radioactive emissions or magnetic fields to identify abnormalities and study the physiology of the human body. Additionally, radiologists can use imaging techniques to guide therapeutic procedures such as pain relief, biopsies, and treatment of internal bleeding, blood vessel disorders and cancer. The Department of Imaging at Boulder City Hospital performs approximately 40,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures each year. Our Department is staffed with expert imaging physicians, certified technologists and clerical staff, to provide you with optimal patient care and service. Surgical
Our Operating Suites feature state-of-the-art equipment to accommodate a diverse range of both inpatient and outpatient procedures. Many Laparoscopic procedures are performed in our institution as well as delicate glaucoma and cataract surgeries. Boulder City Hospital is very proud of our on-staff physicians, able to perform both minor and intricate procedures.
